Joe, I saw the newly-vacated flower bed on Dublin. I’m a little puzzled as to why we got rid of flowers that were in-bloom and were not ugly? So now we’re trying to decide what to put there? Maybe if I knew why the others had to go, I could give ideas as to what to replace with.
My two-cents on community beautification leans more toward encouraging people to beautify the exteriors of their own units. (Maybe have a contest where everyone votes?) Obviously, there are some within the complex that are very, very good at this. While I am trying, I know that I pale in comparison to those who know what they’re doing. By this I mean explicitly that some people are capable of having SOMETHING blooming in every season. It makes me wish I had taken classes in landscape design. *SIGH* This kind of skill is well beyond me, so my flower beds have the same stuff that was just purged from the bed on Dublin–only much less of it.
As far as “community” flower beds are concerned, surely we should steer clear of annuals? The key for these needs to be low-maintenance!
Thanks for everything you have done.. and HOPEFULLY you can get the fixing and painting of stairwells going before Christmas! If there is something I can do, let me know…….love all of you, Betty
Contact Joe King if you are interested. His info can be found on the “Contact” tab
